Earn the Gold Standard in Professional Coaching

This is your chance to earn the global gold-standard credibility that corporate clients recognise on sight. BYLD Coaching's ICF Level 1 programme takes you to Associate Certified Coach (ACC) level, the credential serious buyers actually look for. If you are starting out, or bringing coaching into a role you already hold, our ICF coach training gives you the skill and the standing to do the work well.

ICF is the International Coaching Federation, the largest professional coaching body in the world and the group whose standard everyone else measures against. You do not buy an ICF Coach Certification. You earn it, through accredited ICF coach training, real coaching hours, mentor coaching, and a performance evaluation. An ICF coaching certification is worth the effort because it says something no self-styled coach can claim, and an ICF coaching certification carries that meaning in every market.

The Credential That Sets You Apart

Anyone can call themselves a coach. An ICF Coach Certification proves you have trained to a real standard and hold yourself to a code of ethics. Its value comes down to three things that give this credential weight in boardrooms worldwide:

Global gold-standard credibility

An ICF certified coach credential travels across markets and industries. Buyers know what it means, so an ICF certified coach almost never has to prove their qualifications twice.

Rigorous, competency-based standards

Every hour of ICF coach training is measured against the ICF Core Competencies. You get certified for skill you can show, not for attendance.

An uncompromised ethical framework

Every ICF certified coach signs up to the ICF Code of Ethics, which is what lets clients and organisations trust the room.

Those three things are why serious professionals pick ICF coach training over a weekend workshop. An ICF coaching certification tells the market you are the real thing.

The Path to Becoming an ICF Certified Coach

The route to become an ICF certified coach at Level 1 is clear. You complete accredited ICF coach training, log real coaching hours, work with a mentor coach, and sit a final assessment. By the end of the ICF training you can hold your own with a client, which is the whole point of an ICF Coach Certification.

Clear these through your ICF coach training and you can apply for the ACC credential and call yourself an ICF certified coach, with a full ICF coaching certification behind you.

ICF Level I Coach Certification involves

  • 60+ hours of coach-specific ICF training from an accredited Level 1 programme.
  • 100+ hours of coaching experience, including at least 75 paid hours.
  • 10+ hours of mentor coaching over a minimum of three months.
  • Successful completion of a performance evaluation at the ACC skill level.
  • A passing score on the ICF ACC exam.

What Your ICF Coach Training Covers

Theory alone will not make you a coach. Our Level 1 ICF coach training, “Foundations of Coaching and Coaching for Change”, puts live teaching, real practice, and honest feedback together so the competencies become second nature. The ICF training includes:

  • Coaching foundations built on the ICF Core Competencies that sit at the centre of every ICF training programme.
  • Live, facilitator-led ICF coach training, not videos you watch on your own.
  • Supervised coaching practice with written feedback, which is where most of the real learning in ICF training happens.
  • Mentor coaching hours that your ICF coaching certification requires.
  • Exam preparation, so the ACC assessment holds no surprises.

Our coaches go on to run their own practices, take leadership and executive briefs, and coach inside large organisations. Good ICF coach training is judged on that, not on a framed certificate. What matters is whether an ICF certified coach can sit across from a senior leader and be useful, and that is what our ICF coaching certification is built to produce.

Who ICF Level 1 Coach Training Is For

  • Professionals aiming to work with corporates as a leadership, executive, or team coach.
  • HR and L&D leaders adding coaching to how they lead.
  • Independent coaches who want a credential that holds up under scrutiny.
  • Anyone treating coaching as a career, not a weekend hobby.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an ICF Coach Certification, and why does it matter?

An ICF Coach Certification is a globally recognised credential earned through accredited icf coach training, real coaching hours, mentor coaching, and a final assessment. It signals that you have trained to the ICF standard, which is why the credential carries weight with corporate buyers.

How do I become an ICF certified coach at Level 1?

To become a certified coach, you complete a Level 1 icf coach training programme, log your coaching hours, finish mentor coaching, and pass the ACC exam. Most people choose accredited icf training so their hours count toward the credential.

What is the difference between an icf coaching certification and a short course?

This credential is held to the ICF Core Competencies and a code of ethics, while a short course is not. That rigour is what makes an ICF Coach Certification worth more than an unaccredited certificate, and it is what an icf certified coach relies on.

How many hours of icf training does Level 1 require?

Level 1 requires at least 60 hours of coach-specific icf training, plus 100 hours of coaching experience and 10 hours of mentor coaching. Completing this icf coach training is the fastest route to your first icf coaching certification.

Is an ICF credential recognised worldwide?

Yes. An icf coaching certification and the ICF certified coach credential are recognised across more than 160 countries, so your credential travels with you. That global recognition is a core reason coaches pursue it.
